In Loving Memory of

Rosa Bell Jobe Boley

Boley, Rosa Bell Jobe, passed away at her home in Salem on Thursday, August 24, 2006.  She was a member of West Salem Baptist Church where for many years she was very active in Vacation Bible School and the Women’s Missionary Union.  She was predeceased by her husband, Allen James Boley; parents, Lura and John H. Jobe; six brothers, Clarence, Thurman, Leonard, Carl, Jerry and Douglas all of Salem .  Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Shirley S. Dean and husband Ken, of Roanoke ; sons, Allen C. Boley of Salem , James J. Boley and wife, Audrey of Winfield, West Virginia; daughter, Rosamary Purpura and husband, Joe of Rockingham, North Carolina; grandchildren, Charles Stephenson, III and wife, Theresa of Melbourne, Florida, Terri Belcher and husband, Andy of Melbourne, Florida, Lee Stephenson and wife, Karen of Salem, Nikki Friedl and fiancé Tim of Staffordsville, Va., Laura Wallace and husband, Derrick of Beckley, West Virginia, Erin Dunkle and husband, Chris of Columbia, Maryland; eight great grandchildren; friend and caregiver, Kathy Jones Collins; sisters-in-law, Ruby, Ruth and Regina Jobe; numerous nieces and nephews including  a special niece, Peggy Jobe Cox.  Her family will certainly remember her for her love of her flowers and yard as well as her love of people.  She was “mom” to many and they were always welcome in her home at any time.  Our particular thanks to Gentle Shepherd Hospice, and especially to Rosa Baker, who helped the family in so many ways.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at 10:00 am at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Rev. Bob White and Rev. Thomas Lee, Sr. officiating.  Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park .  The family will receive friends on Friday, August 25, 2006 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers a charitable gift may be made in her memory to the Julie Project, c/o Rosa Baker, 3307 Eva Ave. , Roanoke , Va. 24018 .  On-line condolences may be made at www.johnmoakey.com
