In Loving Memory of
Norma Jean Fisher Clements
Norma began her journey on Earth May 27, 1937 and
departed this life on Sunday, September 4, 2005.
The daughter of George and Martha Fisher.
Norma graduated from
Jefferson
High School
and
Cornett
Business
School
. She was president of Fisher
Mobile Homes and
Riverland
Mobile
Home
Park
and official Mom to everyone at George’s Flowers.
Though Norma lived in a world of silence, she heard and spoke with
her heart and soul. She lived
life with dignity, determination, style and grace even as she dealt with her
cancer. The people who knew her
marveled at her positive attitude, ever present smile and toughness.
Her love of family, friends and cats will be remembered by those
fortunate enough to have known her. She
was predeceased by her parents and very special grand dogs Quillan and Petie
that are to remain by her side for eternity.
Survivors are her husband of 48 years, Leroy Clements of
Salem
who provided the best care possible during her fight with cancer, son George
Clements of
Roanoke
, Tiger, Lucy and sister, Shirley Farris.
Special appreciation to care givers DeeDee Hayes, sister-in-law,
Lawanda Martin, friends, Lee Garrett and Carolyn Boley for amazing love and
support to Norma, Leroy and George. Special
thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice, Rita and Deno of DJ’s Restaurant, Butch,
Kathy and everyone at the Roanoker Restaurant.
Those wishing to offer memorials may consider flowers, The American
Cancer Society, Good Samaritan Hospice, Diabetes Association or an Animal
Humane Organization. Funeral
services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the John
M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel in
Salem
with Chaplain Marvin Barbre officiating.
Entombment will follow at
Sherwood
Memorial Park
. The family will receive
friends on Monday, September 5, 2005 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
