In Loving Memory of

Norma Jean Fisher Clements

Norma began her journey on Earth May 27, 1937 and departed this life on Sunday, September 4, 2005.  The daughter of George and Martha Fisher.  Norma graduated from Jefferson High School and Cornett Business School .  She was president of Fisher Mobile Homes and Riverland Mobile Home Park and official Mom to everyone at George’s Flowers.  Though Norma lived in a world of silence, she heard and spoke with her heart and soul.  She lived life with dignity, determination, style and grace even as she dealt with her cancer.  The people who knew her marveled at her positive attitude, ever present smile and toughness.  Her love of family, friends and cats will be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known her.  She was predeceased by her parents and very special grand dogs Quillan and Petie that are to remain by her side for eternity.  Survivors are her husband of 48 years, Leroy Clements of Salem who provided the best care possible during her fight with cancer, son George Clements of Roanoke , Tiger, Lucy and sister, Shirley Farris.  Special appreciation to care givers DeeDee Hayes, sister-in-law, Lawanda Martin, friends, Lee Garrett and Carolyn Boley for amazing love and support to Norma, Leroy and George.  Special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice, Rita and Deno of DJ’s Restaurant, Butch, Kathy and everyone at the Roanoker Restaurant.  Those wishing to offer memorials may consider flowers, The American Cancer Society, Good Samaritan Hospice, Diabetes Association or an Animal Humane Organization.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with Chaplain Marvin Barbre officiating.  Entombment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park .  The family will receive friends on Monday, September 5, 2005 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.  Arrangements by John M.
